“Considering they’re an all girls team playing against men, I’m very proud of them I think they did great.” Coach Pat Shapiro
Trailing 3-0 after the first period of their third place match, the 721M City Hawks women’s team appeared unable to make up the difference.
721M is an occupational training center in Manhattan, New York focused on preparing their students for independent living and thinking. For the City Hawks, perseverance continues to be the name of their game. Three goals later, they entered the third period tied with the Albany Mighty Pucks.
“We’ve been training since the end of September,” Coach Pat Shapiro said. “I think they did phenomenal.”
The City Hawks’ adjustments fell just short of the division six bronze medal, finishing with a 6-5 scoreline. Although this was their second loss of the day, Shapiro expressed her pride in the team’s resolve. “Considering they’re an all girls team playing against men, I’m very proud of them, I think they did great.”
