Athletes from all across the state competed in Floorball, the newest winter sport to be played at Special Olympics New York. In this exciting, fast-paced sport, the athletes use light-weight sticks to try and score more goals than the opposing team. Teams competed in the morning to qualify for the finals later in the afternoon. Will Smith of the Hudson-Valley-based North East Knights says “It’s great to be learning this sport together and making little improvements over time.” The Knights will be competing next year at the 2025 World Winter Games in Italy.
